We have completely revamped our Conscious Birth classes to include all of the necessary preparation and emotional changes the postpartum period will bring. Our birth centred culture does not put enough focus on the changes in our emotional selves as well as our partners in the journey of parenthood.

This class will be delivered in a one day and one evening format and will include an in home or hospital visit with follow up support after you have become a family.

You will benefit from all of the components necessary for birth preparation-hospital policies and procedures, community standards, birth at home, comfort measures, stages of labour, vaginal and caesarean birth, hands on technique (taught by our Registered Massage Therapist!) for pain relief, how pain medications work, how the pelvis works in labour and delivery, ways to optimize fetal positioning, how to advocate for yourself and how to normalize your experience.

The program will also cover what postpartum looks like, feels like, how babies adjust to the world and what you can expect with feeding. We will discuss in depth how to prepare for breastfeeding, how to overcome challenges and what happens to your hormones in the postpartum period.

Navigating the journey to parenthood to keep your relationship strong, feeling comfortable with and understanding your emotions and how to foster closeness through this massive parentdigm (see what we did there? ) shift will be discussed in every aspect of the program to help with a much smoother transition.

The class will also include a prenatal gift bag, postpartum healing products, newborn diapers and a curriculum with teaching sheets for you to take home. The breastfeeding class adjunct to the one day class will be on Monday January 30th  7-9 pm.
